A short trip, few hours West of Bangkok, in an interesting and rich area, suitable for a short holiday (4-5 days are enough). Several rare wonderful species are waiting for us in a very nice and still pristine environment.
Day 1 Meeting in Bangkok and transfer to Kanchanaburi district (280 km-3.30 hours). Depending the flight schedule possible stop on the way at a nice waterfall. 4pm check in at Suan Rim Kwai hotel. Dinner in Town.
Day 2 7.00 breakfast and visit a remote waterfall, the only known location of the beautiful and elusive Stichophthalma godfreyi godfreyi. During the day we should be able to see this species and the Stichophthalma luisa luisa, smaller and more pale subspecies. Lunch on the field. Back to the hotel at 16.00. Dinner in town.
Day 3 7.00 breakfast and visit Thong Pha Phum National Park and a nice small border village, at the Thai-Myanmar border. We should be able to spot at 1000 mt the massive rare Penthema darlisa darlisa, the “Kaiser” and other mountain Lycaenidae. Interesting excursion at the border, Burmese products and wonderful views. Back to the hotel at 17.00. Dinner in town.
Day 4 7.00 breakfast, check out and, if the flight schedule will allow, half day visit again at the Junglequeen Waterfall. At 13.00 return to Bangkok (300 km-4 hours).

TRAVEL INSURANCE: This is compulsory and must include full medical and emergency repatriation cover.

COSTS
DAILY CHARGE is 7,000 Baht for a max of 4 persons, 6,000 if only one person, exceptionally 8,000 if 5 persons, shared among the participants.
GASOLINE, highway fees, and other possible charges during the trip are not included.
ACCOMMODATION: The hotel room is usually about 1000-1200/day for a double room. NATIONAL PARKS entrance fee is between 100 and 300 Baht/person
FOOD and drink will cost about 200/300 Baht a meal/person
